A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"During my first visit to the cozy spot in Thonglor, I discovered this gem through Google Maps. The à la carte menu offered a delightful array of options, and I was impressed with how incredibly delicious everything was. Each dish boasted exquisite flavors, making every bite memorable. The sushi and kappou dishes were beautifully presented, highlighting the fresh ingredients. The variety on the menu allowed me to tailor my experience to my tastes, ranging from classic omakase offerings to diverse à la carte selections. With attentive service and such satisfying culinary artistry, I’m excited to return and explore more soon!"
"I visited Sushi Kappou Ishimoto in Thonglor for the first time, thanks to a friend's recommendation. I chose the omakase sushi menu, and I was thoroughly impressed. The sushi, crafted with fresh ingredients, delivered great CP value with a superb balance of shari and neta. Each bite was satisfying. The kappou dishes elegantly showcased seasonal flavors, and the a la carte options added to the dining experience with their variety. The warm and welcoming atmosphere made the meal even more enjoyable. I'm eager to return and explore more from their a la carte menu next time."
"I found this restaurant while searching for Japanese food on Google Maps, and it did not disappoint. The sushi is well prepared and made with good-quality ingredients. While it can’t be compared to the quality and variety of fish in Japan, it is definitely very good by standards outside Japan. Every course in the Sushi Omakase Jou menu was excellent. The cooked dishes are also tasty. From the à la carte menu, I particularly enjoyed the deep-fried yam, futomaki, sautéed octopus, and warabi mochi. The drinks menu is also excellent, with a good selection of Japanese alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. The chefs and service staff are warm and attentive. I would gladly return when I’m in the area again."
"Came for high-quality nigiri and the restaurant did not disappoint. We opted for a la carte options rather than omakase because the fish looked excellent. Everything was superb, particularly uni, otoro, chutoro, and akami. There was a great selection of sake as well."
"If you’re looking for an authentic Japanese dining experience, this place is a must-visit! The quality of the sashimi is outstanding — melt-in-your-mouth toro, perfectly fresh uni, creamy negitoro, and sweet shrimp that taste like they came straight from the market in Japan. The chirashi bowls are beautifully presented and very generous with premium toppings. I especially loved the balance of textures: fatty tuna, rich salmon roe, and the egg yolk on top tying everything together perfectly. Every bite was fresh, clean, and full of flavor. Service was attentive yet relaxed, and the atmosphere was cozy — perfect for enjoying high-quality seafood with friends or family. Prices are very fair considering the quality you get. Highly recommend this spot if you’re craving an authentic Japanese meal that goes beyond the usual sushi!"
"I visited a sushi spot in Thonglor on a friend's recommendation, and it was my first time there. I opted for the omakase menu, and the experience was delightful from start to finish. Each piece of sushi was a masterpiece with perfectly tempered rice and beautifully fresh ingredients. The atmosphere was calm and inviting, and I felt truly welcomed by the attentive staff. The array of sushi and kappou dishes was impressive, with plenty of à la carte options that cater to every mood and preference I look forward to returning and trying their seasonal specials next time!"
"I was really impressed by the exceptional quality. From the first appetizers to the sashimi and sushi, every dish was refined and delicious. I’ve never liked shiokara or sea urchin, but for the first time in my life, I actually found them delicious here. The curry rice at the end was also excellent with well-balanced spice flavor, and even the rice itself was high-quality. They also serve my favorite craft beer “Kagua” (both White and Red, which is rare to find at other restaurants. Their selection of sake, shochu, and whisky is also extensive. The service level was also high. There are three private rooms for four people each, and they can be combined to accommodate up to sixteen guests. Many of our guests stay at Hotel Nikko, so I expect we’ll be using this restaurant for future business dinners."
"Fresh ingredients, lovely nigiri bites. You can also order alacarte, which features a wide variety of dishes. However, the food all came at the same time."
